Hanging on to where you have always lived and trying to “age” in place, let’s face it, that gets old fast!
Houses and living spaces age really fast and sometimes we put up with things we shouldn’t. Adult “kids” looking in on parents know what I am talking about. And the parents fight for independence may present in a kind of “blind” stuborness.
So when is a good time to make a move to downsize and definitly upgrade?
Health and energy are good indicators. Of course family proximity is another important factor.
Where does one start?
It often starts with a conversation, first with yourself and of course, with your family.
Second, often it is a conversation with someone with experience in helping seniors (kids moved, it is hard to keep the house up). The conversation about what is next is a really an important one.
My first question is “what would make you happy?” and we work from there.
